| The Asian Aotearoa Arts Hui 2018 I had a great time at the biggest and most ambitious Hui to date. Sitting on the balcony of Te Papa's Icon restaurant, I recall ten years ago, Kelly and I being alone here and watching the fireworks for Te Papa's 10th birthday celebrations in 2008 [my last event here]. I assisted the Hui with Comms strategy and also participated as a guest speakers. Twenty years ago, 1998, I recall submitting an application for funding to Creative NZ for a Chinese Artist Symposium - ultimately unsuccessful then - but really happy that a new crowd of creatives is pushing the envelope! |

| While in Wellington I sketched a derelict corner shop in Lyall Bay. An old Chinese lady used to run this shop and her opening hours were whenever she liked! |

| Passing through the town of Waikanae, we stopped into the Eastern Egret Restaurant. My sister was a co-owner when it opened and I created their branding back in 1989! |
