Sketching Malaysia - Penang

Lebuh Muntri Street, Penang. With glimpse of mural art on the 'five foot way' arch.

I joined the "See It - Sketch It" event, which was part of the celebrations of the anniversary of Georgetown being marked as a UNESCO Heritage City. Coordinated by the Penang Urban Sketchers group.

Sketching was made along Kapitan Kelling, one of the main roads of Georgetown. All participants were given an A3 page, and all compositions were exhibited at The Equator Art Academy

Another programme in the UNESCO celebrations was an open day at the oldest Anglican Church in South East Asia, St George's Church. Adjacent was the St Nicholas Home for the Blind.

The view from Penang Hill, overlooking Georgetown. Some cheeky monkeys and a large black centipede.
